Santa Comes to Waverly Ace!

Waverly Ace Hardware joins the Waverly Wonderland celebration Saturday December 12, 2009 to encourage neighbors to shop close to home and support local merchants and artisans during the 2009 holiday season. And in the grand tradition of yuletide celebrations, Santa Claus will be paying a visit to the store from 12 to 2 pm during his walking tour around Waverly. He’ll be posing with kids, pups and anyone else who wants a picture with the jolly old elf. (Pictures are free for everyone.)

To dress up the block, Main Street retailers are competing for holiday spirit in a window-decorating contest (along Greenmount Ave. from 28th to 36th, including adjacent side streets). Shoppers can cast their vote for their favorite window design at Waverly Ace and get a free Main Street tote bag.

Additionally, Waverly Ace is offering 25% off their entire selection of holiday décor and gifts, including forever trees, LED lights, extension cords, ornaments and Chanukah essentials. There’ll also be hot cider and homemade cookies, a contest for a $25 Ace gift card, and in the spirit of holiday karma, a wishing tree for neighbors to write down a wish and hang it from the tree. The day is not to be missed!

Santa’s schedule:

9 to 11 am: Waverly Farmers Market

11 am to 12 pm: Stroll along Greenmount Ave.

12 to 2 pm: Free pictures at Waverly Ace

Waverly Ace Hardware is located at 601 Homestead St. in Baltmore, MD.
